Greetings from Virginia Beach! We’re here visiting our daughter Cristina and her husband John.

We at Act Now Ministries (ANM) would like to wish all of our partners and friends a Happy New Year. Our Christmas this year was spent with all of our family and it was a blessing to be able to see all of our children and their families. We hope that yours was a blessed time as well. This year flew by way too fast; we experienced victories and some challenges, giving us many reasons to rejoice.

Important decisions were made for the future ahead of us during this past year. After three years on the west coast of Sicily, we relocated back to the Catania area. During the evaluation period and leading to the final decision, we saw a huge decline in the arrival of refugees to the island of Sicily. Numbers of refugees dropped from a year ago at 180,000 to around 20,000 refugees this year as a result of the stance the Italian government has taken.

Relocating to Catania had to do with logistics and partnerships with whom we could be more effective in reaching one more for the One. At the same time, we ask you to continue to pray for future endeavors in the island of Sardegna (Sardinia) in the middle of the Mediterranean Sea. Giuseppe took a trip to investigate and spoke with some leaders in the capital city of Cagliari and Quartu. ANM will be taking a group there this spring for evangelism and outreach for those who are there in the refugee camps.

Plans are also underway to begin a partnership with an Association of Churches, spanning the entire length of Italy. We need your prayers and support more than ever during the following months. There is a lot of planning to be done and we must be strategic in our approach.

Our board of directors is expanding, and we’ve invited some additional personnel to join us. There are some positions that we are working on creating and have filled to help with the amount of work and requests coming in. Please pray for those who were invited so that more hands can participate in our ministry.

We have seen victories and success in the past. We can appreciate the past and we welcome the challenges the future holds.

Thank you for your love and support for another year of ministry in Sicily and beyond.

A New Year’s Blessing

Lord, as a new year begins, we come to You and ask for Your blessing. We pray that You will give us joy to fill our days, peace to fill our hearts, and love to fill our lives.

We thank God for you and pray your new year will be abundantly blessed in every way.

As always:  Let’s go fishing (really) for One more for the One.

Ciao for now.
