August 2026 Newsletter
As we write this update, it seems autumn has already arrived here, while temperatures in Italy continue to reach 90–105 degrees. It has been a challenging summer overseas, with extreme heat, volcanic activity near Catania, and forest fires.
Yet through it all, ministry continues wherever God places us. This summer has also brought the blessing of family reunions and precious time with our children and their families. In the midst of busy days and difficult circumstances, we are reminded that God is good and graciously gives us moments of rest, renewal, and time with those we love.
What a blessing to see God at work in Sicily! Our dear friends and faithful supporters, David and Karla Poer from Indiana, recently stayed at Giuseppe’s apartment, where they enjoyed a time of rest while also sharing the love of Christ with family and others.
Through copies of the Gospel of John and other Christian literature, seeds of faith were planted. We are so thankful that God continues to use the apartment as a place of rest, fellowship, and ministry.
Please pray for those who received His Word and for the faithful servants who will continue to water and harvest these seeds in the days ahead. God is good!
The need for Gospel literature continues to grow, and we are now ordering more materials as quickly as possible. We are blessed to share God’s Word in many languages, including Arabic, Bengali, French, Italian, Urdu, English, Russian, Chinese, Spanish, and more— helping us reach people from many nations and backgrounds.
Even while “resting” in northern Michigan, opportunities to serve continue! We are thankful that wherever God places us, He opens doors to share His love and encourage others.
Giuseppe has also spent time walking alongside several people who are grieving the loss of loved ones. Please pray that the Lord will give him wisdom, compassion, and the right words to bring comfort and point hurting hearts toward the hope we have in Christ.
Prayer requests:
- Clint, a dear friend of ours, just had a triple bypass at the University of Michigan, that through our friendship he might hear Him and receive Him.
- Two (2) different Barbara’s, one a dear sister in her 90’s and another in her 70’s for strength and comfort.
- Larry a longtime friend dealing with cancer.
- Edwin, our treasurer, that is dealing with cancer.
- Pray for us, Pennie and I, to stay the course that He has put in our hearts to serve. It is an honor to serve together for our Lord and Savior.
Still astonished by His creation Belated Happy Birthday to this amazing Proverbs 31 woman!
Let’s go fishing (really) for one more, for the One.
God bless you and keep you strong.
Serving together Giuseppe and Pennie Collesano.
Ciao for now.
