February 2025 Newsletter

Greetings from Michigan! It’s still cold here and we are waiting for an ice storm tonight. It never gets boring in Michigan. We are also spending great times with our kids and grandkids; what a blessing. We still have lots of news to share with all of you. Your prayers are needed as you know. When we talk with our Father, He is pleased to hear our hearts and desires.
On the home front, Pennie, Giuseppe’s wife, had two eye surgeries to remove cataracts at the end of January. Now she is recuperating from all that. We asked for prayers and all is good so far. The first surgery went well. The second was much longer but still the doctor was pleased with the results. It will take a couple of months till all will be good. Time of rest and time with Giuseppe. God is good.
While Giuseppe stays alongside Pennie, God’s program progresses. Last month, we shared the letter of Provvidenza (Providence) in the women’s part of the prison. This month, we would like to share a letter from Danilo. He is in a maximum jail cell in the same city near the airport. Act Now Ministries for many years has facilitated the ministry in these prisons with literature, toiletries, toys and more. Toys and more are for the children at home without their fathers. God has been good and we want to share what Danilo wrote.
He wrote: The inmate Danilo, a man of his word, would like to thank the two volunteers Lucia and Maria. (These volunteers go to these prisons on a regular basis, not alone naturally; a pastor comes along). They were of great help for me (Danilo) to make a video conference happen with a judge; I am so thankful for that. Also, they helped in providing clothes and much needed blankets so I will be warm in prison. At the same time, they made it possible for me to come closer to God, and not in the way that I knew. The gospel is much clearer for me now. Not only do I want to thank all of you for making possible that my life here can be better, I pray that God will protect you every day and your loved ones. Respectfully, Danilo.
God is good. Continue that lives would be transformed by the Gospel of Peace. Also last month, we shared about a need in Kenya. We are evaluating the possibility on how we can help in a far-away place. There is a group of believers that it is growing rapidly. They are meeting on bare ground with a makeshift tent. As we have more details, we will let you know about it. We see needs everywhere, and we desire to do His will in this matter. Please do pray for this.
One of our partners in North Italy that we were able to bless with our literature sent us a photo of a man from South Sudan thanking us for a Bible that he was able to receive through Daniele.
These are refugees that now reside in Italy. There is a large enclave of Pakistani and people from Bangladesh. They are receiving Bibles and New Testaments in their languages thanks to you. As you remember, for quite a few years we were directly involved in refugee ministry in Sicily. Most of these refugees settled in the north for a better life; not much work in Sicily. Now we have a great opportunity to reach them and help the local churches to be equipped to do so.
While we wait, Giuseppe’s calendar gets filled for the coming months once he returns to Sicily. The good news is that We Have the Good News to share. Your help in praying, giving, going or coming to visit is a blessing. Thank you.
As always: Let’s go fishing (really) for one more for the One.
God bless you. Keep on praying.
Serving together, Giuseppe and Pennie Collesano.
Ciao for now.
