July 2025 Newsletter
Greetings from smoky and warm Michigan! It has been a busy summer, from granita to Gospel. Usually on Sundays, Giuseppe serves in churches in Sicily. He was ready to go but the Lord had other plans, even for the last Sunday of the month. Granita is basically lemon ice, a refreshing treat and even eaten for breakfast with a sweet brioche. As you see from the photo, all five of us early Sunday morning gathered for breakfast that lasted for more than an hour.
Then Giuseppe took one of our co-workers somewhere with another two tagging along. We will make it to the service for sure; not so. Pippo M is in the photo with Franco, a Moroccan Muslim who started asking questions about our faith. Franco is in the middle, Pippo is on his left. So for the next 45 minutes, Giuseppe explained the plan of God for mankind. Interesting conversation. Do pray for the seed planted in these hearts. No church service but still serving His purpose.
We did ask you to pray for the six kids that we were able to send to Bible camp this summer. God is good, all the time. God rewarded your prayers and your giving. Richard (Riccardo) from a Muslim family accepted Jesus at camp. He is 17 years old. We do not have any news yet about the other five; two of them are girls as you see in the photo. Prayer works even 4,000 miles away from us.
We also received a pallet of literature. This will be shipped to two different locations, where we have partners that are doing outreach to Muslims in the north. Your support goes a long way. Between family time here in Michigan, almost the whole month of July was busy in preaching and facilitating a mission Sunday at the Coast Guard Chapel. This small church is located on Lake Huron where the Collesanos are involved in helping in a variety of responsibilities.
We held a breakfast fundraiser for the people in need on Bois Blanc Island. A few years back, Giuseppe built a fireplace for someone on the island. Once they heard about the breakfast, Clint and Linda contacted the Chapel to offer their help. Then on Sunday, they came for the first time to church. Giuseppe was preaching. Pennie had a great time and answered questions that Linda had about the Gospel. God is good.
It does not take long for a month to fly by so quickly. Between here and Sicily/Italy, there is always an opportunity to serve. Programming for the fall has started. As always, it will be a busy season. More to come next month.
We thank you for your love and support. Together we can do it. Prayers for strength and good health.
As always: Let’s go fishing (really) for one more for the One.
God bless you.
Serving together our Lord and Savior,
Giuseppe and Pennie Collesano
Ciao for now.
